I used it in a Bluegrass band for 18 months before I decided to travel - it has sat in its case ever since. This bass is an INVESTMENT and can be expected to increase in value as I believe some of the woods used are no longer available. All wood is solid - no laminates anywhere. Check the specs direct from Martin below. It is strung with Thomastik-Infeld nylon core brass wound strings optimised for peizo pickups.

It has one slight piece of damage to the top which is very hard to see unless the light is just right. I tried but it is difficult to photograph. You may pick it out in the last photo in the listing.

This classic instrument has an even, warm tone but is not loud with these strings but holds its own when using an amp. All metal strings are louder but not as warm as the nylon cores. I suspect the numbers'in the wild' would be in the 100's and this model has been out of production since 1996.
