This started out as a Squier by Fender Mike Dirnt Signature Vintage Modified Precision Bass. This bass plays and sounds excellent. The stock tuning machines have been replaced with genuine Fender tuners with the embossed Fender logo (like on an actual MIM Fender Dirnt bass). They look and function great.
The original stencil was removed, a bit of tint added, then a new'50's-style decal. Lastly, a lot of clear StewMac Nitrocellulose lacquer was sprayed on over a 2 week period. Decal is level-sanded and you do not see the decal edges. 51 headstock shape,'51 slab-style body with'55-style front arm contour and pickguard, and a side-mounted jack plate. Pls note- The picture of the back of the bass was taken under a power line and it looks like there's a line or flaw in the body. Be assured this is not the case. It is smooth and glossy, with a few very minimal scratches/scuffs. I like this bass because of the retro look and it doesn't have the big Mike Dirnt "Star" graphic on the body..... It just looks like an old'50's style bass without calling attention to any particular bassist or band......Pretty much what I was aiming for, lol. Lastly, this bass weighs in at only 7lb 4oz.
This is a super nice and light bass and is most comfortable to play! The item "Fender Mike Dirnt Squier Precision Bass New Decal'50's Tuners Telecaster Tele" is in sale since Friday, March 29, 2019.
