It's fully decked out with dual ashtray covers (which came stock) and lower finger rest. The frets are in excellent shape. Cosmetically, it's astounding this vintage bass is 9/10 with only some very tiny marks/scuffs I tried to show in pics, but are hard to see. This bass is a real testament to Japanese craftsmanship of the era.
The neck fits super snug in the neck pocket. This bass is a real sports car that looks like it's been sitting in someone's stable for many years and was lightly used.
Weight is approximately 9.5 pounds. I do a full cleaning and setup on all guitars. Details on my setups and packing at bottom of listing. The T+6-digit serial indicates 1994-95 production date. However, looking through Fender Japan catalogs, the closest match I find to this is a 2010 model called "JB66B, " making it a 1966 re-issue. Unfortunately, the stamp in the neck pocket is too faint to confirm this. It was probably a Japan "domestic only" model. Pots say Made in Japan. Slim C Neck, 7.25 radius, bone nut. 1.54" width at nut, 2.23" at 12th. 780 thick (front to back) at 1st. Full setup, cleaning, and new strings. You must have a physical address and signature is required. All setups are done by our in-house luthier.Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, cleaning any gunk off fingerboard, oiling neck, and polishing frets when necessary. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. You may need to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier.
Basses get the same treatment minus the string change. I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have been doing this 10 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case.
