I was playing a Fender P-51 bass before this but always preferred the. The resonance and quality of its smooth, clean low-end beats the socks off about any bass you can put against it. The thickness under the strings and bridge contributes to the instruments resonance and depth of tone, while the thinner wing portions contribute to reduced weight and overall balance. Another feature set that contributes to this basss tonal excellence is the quality of its pickups. They are high-quality Gibson-designed humbuckers, with substantial alnico magnets, and theyre double waxed to dampen microphonics. Their positioning, too, is key. I also like that they are soapbar-style and give you two solid positions to anchor your thumb. Tobacco' Sundurst high gloss finish.
Mahogany body with thick center. The bass is in excellent condition, the is a very small chip in the finish on the headstock opposite the tuning keys and a few imperceptible scratches on the back. Perhaps the only negative I found with this bass is no fret markers on the top of the neck; while playing on stage where the lighting can be poor I placed sparkle markers that can easily be removed.I also put a washer on the front strap knob for added security, better strap lock kits can be found however. The hardshell case offers superior protection but has a few dings on the outside from years of gigging and is missing several of standing knobs on the exterior of the case. Electric bass guitar in Thunderbird body shape. Mahogany body with alder wings. 20 frets over a smooth rosewood fingerboard.
